How I work

As a Humanistic therapist I integrate three modalities into my practice: Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred and Gestalt therapy. This means I am flexible in the way that I work and together we can find a style of therapy that works best for you. That might mean exploring family dynamics in greater detail, using creativity to experience new ways of feeling or experimenting with new ways of being in the present moment.

What all three modalities have in common is their belief in equality between client and therapist and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. In other words, you are the expert on you! I will always ensure that there is opportunity for us to discuss how the therapy is going and whether there might be new ways of working that you'd like to explore.

Above all, I believe in the inherent ability of every person to heal, however difficult that might feel for you right now. Working together, I will be there alongside you and aim to create a space that allows you to feel safe enough to be able to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at greater depth. You may be wondering what I mean by 'healing journey' and while that might look different for everyone, often therapeutic work sees a change in self-awareness, self-compassion and a deeper understanding of the important relationships in our lives.

Each session is 50 minutes long and I offer both weekly and fortnightly appointments. Please note I currently work on Mondays (9.30am-3pm), Wednesdays (5-9pm) and Fridays (9.30am-3pm).
